Coffee Planet is located in the quaint strolling village of Ballston Spa, NY just five miles south of Saratoga Springs, NY. The Capital District's premiere Coffee House has a specialty gourmet coffee bar, bagels, soups, sandwiches and desserts. The café has free wireless internet, along with live acoustic music every weekend. Coffee Planet also serves red and white wines, bottled micro brew, domestic and imported beers.

You'll enjoy seeing many paintings and photos by local artists on display throughout the Café. Artist co-op "Strolling Village Artisans" located on Front Street has some of their artwork on display here. Hanging on our walls you will also see antique mirrors and photos from some Ballston Spa Antique Shops. There are books to read, board games to play and music to listen to.

Ballston Spa Country Club
A member-owned, semi-private golf course located just minutes from Saratoga Springs, NY. Ballston Spa Public Library
The Ballston Spa Public Library was chartered in 1893 by the State of New York, to serve the residents of the village of Ballston Spa. It existed in various locations throughout the village, until a permanent home was built for it in 1959. An addition was put on in 1971. The current building is two stories, each of which is accessible by wheel chair separately. Ballston Spa now has approximately 5000 residents, and is the county seat of Saratoga County.

Almost Awake

Casey J. Chapman: Guitar and Vocals Dave Shaver: Percussion and Vocals. Almost Awake formed one fateful morning at Brueggers Bagels in Albany New York. Neither Casey nor Dave had slept a wink the night before, having stayed up playing Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot, wandering the streets of Albany and drinking coffee at Bob's Diner. Having met only a few weeks before, the duo immediately hit it off both personally and musically. One Tuesday night at and open mic in Troy, NY Dave took Casey's Flyer for a show the next day and she invited him to come and sit in with his dejmbe. He did. The crowd was thrilled, Casey and Dave were hooked, and proper sleep patterns were lost forever.

Barby Matthews
Everyone knew music was Barby’s passion by the time she was playing violin in the fourth grade. By 13, after teaching herself to play guitar on her grandfather’s ancient acoustic, she was writing songs and playing bass in a popular local rock band. Barby has been writing ever since. From the revealing “Fear of Flying” to the sassy “Little Miss Innocent” to the rockin’ “Clear After Midnight”, she interprets the world around her in her own unique style.

Jonas Westbrook
Jonas has been playing guitar and singing since he was a child, being inspired by many of the great musicians of the 60's and 70's and some of the greats of the 90's. As time progresses his music incorporates numerous cultures and styles of music that helps to create his own unique sound. He is now a student at Boston College and is in the process of writing an album.

Maurizio
Maurizio, a Troy - New York native has been performing in front of audiences for the past 15 years and composing songs since he was 4. It hasn't however been until recently that he has been picking up steam, fueled by his debut self-titled release "Maurizio". "Right On Time"; a single off the CD, has been receiving air play on Vermont's WEQX 102.7 and the CD itself has been featured on local radio stations such as WRPI and WSPN. Maurizio’s debut release has also helped him get selected as 1 of 10 finalists among hundreds of applicants in a national song writing contest for Vermont’s Solar Fest. Maurizio plays with fire and genuine emotion, there is no pretense or self-absorbed Rock Star persona, only sweat and a 110% effort at every performance.

Phil Henry
Phil Henry is a singer-songwriter and music educator in southern Vermont. He performs funky folk originals which reflect the aspirations and realities of his small town upbringing. Phil grew up in Saranac Lake, NY and attended college at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. His music was featured in a Burlington Fox-TV affiliate commercial for The X-Files, he performed in the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist Showcase, and he won Vermont's 2005 SolarFest Singer-Songwriter Competition. He has opened for folk notables Colleen Sexton, Rachel Bissex, and Vance Gilbert.
